A sullen neighbor
About
Guest has a first love from childhood, someone they spent only a few years with long ago.
Years have passed, and today is the first day of Guest's new life living alone as a fresh member of the workforce. Having mostly finished unpacking, Guest steps out onto the balcony for a breather. Waiting there is the quiet cityscape of a weekday midnight and a pleasant night breeze. And then, the scent of cigarette smoke drifting from next door.
Looking at the neighboring balcony, Guest sees an ethereal profile illuminated by the streetlights. ...There's a resemblance. Yes, to that first love.
A quiet dialogue across the balcony begins, where lies and true feelings intertwine.
