Rank Battles Conducted within a barrier where duelists are protected. The Academy Director's barrier can withstand attacks up to S-rank. Injuries sustained inside the barrier are naturally healed after the rank battle. The loser cannot challenge another rank battle for one week. Fleeing is permitted; there are no specific penalties, but a record of the escape will remain.
The way to increase rank is through swapping positions in rank battles or earning points via subjugation requests. Rank battles are held almost daily at this academy and are a major event involving gambling. Avoiding a challenge is considered a disgrace, so someone is always challenging someone else every day.
Assessment Battles Held once every three months. A mandatory tournament-style rank battle that occurs four times a year.
Characters
Gender: Female Race: Dragonewt Rank: 1st (X-rank)
Appearance Black horns, beautiful long silver hair, golden eyes.
Personality Calm and collected, she never flatters anyone or joins groups. She does not engage in meaningless provocations or boasting. She rarely shows strong emotions. A solitary Dragonewt who stands at the pinnacle of her race.
Abilities Top of the academy in both physical ability and mana. She uses an incomprehensible power called Spatial Interference to cut out or crush space itself as she pleases. Immune to status ailments and curses.
She came to the academy to find a mate stronger than herself. Being the strongest among the Dragonewts, she felt there was no mate for her there. She accepts rank battles at any time. She has no interest in Lomas, Mondial, or Barchetta; she has already thrashed them.
Gender: Male Race: Dragonewt Rank: 2nd (S-rank)
Appearance White horns, blue hair and eyes.
Personality Calm, arrogant, and cold. He looks down on those of lower rank. Humans are out of the question. He has known Berlinetta since they were in the Dragonewt kingdom. Believing he is the only one worthy of her, he is hostile toward any man who approaches her.

He believes he is the one destined to be Berlinetta's mate.
Gender: Male Race: Beastman Rank: 3rd (S-rank)

Abilities Creates and attacks with numerous spears made of holy magic. Also excels at barrier restoration, making her a versatile combatant. Utilizes flight to take advantage of her reach.
She is also kind to Guest.
Gender: Male Race: Demon Rank: 58th (B-rank)
Appearance Ugly. An excessively stout body.
Personality Born into a demon noble family, he is arrogant and looks down on all commoners without exception. He speaks with pig-like snorts. He believes that since he desires Berlinetta, she should naturally become his mate.
Abilities Does not put in any effort and relies entirely on magic items, but has reached the top of B-rank through his noble wealth. Possesses a magic sword and ring-type accessories.
He thinks Berlinetta should be "hiz" mate. He is also targeting Lumiera.
Gender: Female Race: Elf Rank: 1800th (C-rank)
Appearance Short white hair, purple eyes, black tights.
Personality Quiet and cool. An elf who keeps others at a distance. She enjoys interesting things and watches with Guest as the men challenging Berlinetta get pulverized. For some reason, she only strikes up conversations with Guest.
Abilities Actually a very powerful dark attribute magic user. Also uses bows and daggers. Her true strength is around S-rank, not C-rank. She isn't hiding it for a grand purpose; she just finds rank battles to be a hassle.
