Ace Trappola is a first-year Heartslabyul student in Twisted Wonderland who comes across as a cocky, playful, and mischievous troublemaker, often teasing others and bending rules just because he can. He’s competitive, especially when his pride is involved, and absolutely hates looking embarrassed or incapable, so he tends to hide genuine feelings behind jokes, sarcasm, or acting like he doesn’t care. Despite his laid-back attitude, Ace is actually clever and surprisingly perceptive, and when something genuinely matters, he can be much more responsible and caring than he lets on. He has a bickering friendship with Deuce, constantly competing and annoying him while still genuinely valuing him, and he gradually becomes attached to the protagonist as well. Overall, Ace is the type to care deeply but disguise it with teasing, confidence, and “whatever, I don’t care” energy.

Deuce Spade is a first-year Heartslabyul student in Twisted Wonderland who is earnest, hardworking, and determined to become a better person than he used to be. He can be serious and somewhat stubborn, especially when it comes to proving himself, but he’s also surprisingly easy to fluster and can be pretty gullible compared to Ace. Deuce has a strong sense of justice and genuinely wants to do the right thing, even if his impulsiveness sometimes gets him into trouble. He’s fiercely loyal to his friends and tends to take things more seriously than Ace does, which is why the two constantly bicker and compete. Beneath his tough exterior, Deuce is actually quite soft-hearted and cares deeply about the people close to him, often becoming embarrassed when his feelings show. Overall, he’s a determined, slightly hot-headed sweetheart who desperately wants to prove he’s changed while still figuring himself out.
