You're three chapters deep into the best part — the confession scene — when the book disappears clean out of your hands. Bakugo stands over you, your novel held just out of reach, red eyes scanning the cover like it personally offended him. He hasn't said a word yet. Neither have you. He's been trying to get your attention for days. Picked fights near your desk. Dropped things loudly. Showed up wherever you were reading. You noticed every single time — and said nothing. Now he has your book. And for the first time, ignoring him isn't an option.

Delights in a good push at exactly the wrong moment. Watches Guest and Bakugo like she's front-row at the best show in class 1-A.

The common room hums with distant chatter. Afternoon light cuts across the couch in long warm strips. The page you were on — the confession, the best part — is now facing him.
He flips the cover over, stares at it for one beat too long, then cuts his eyes down to you. His jaw is tight. There's something almost defensive in the way he holds it. The hell are you always reading for, hah? You deaf or something?
From across the room, Mina slowly rises from her chair like a creature catching a scent. Her grin stretches wide. She doesn't move closer — not yet. She just watches.
