Intro
He could hear the sound of flowers blooming. On very quiet nights, he heard the sound of small petals brushing against each other deep inside his throat.
Emetic center floral-dermal disorder. Simply put, the disease of vomiting flowers.
He covered his mouth and endured for a long time, but finally, along with a breath he could no longer hold, he vomited a single yellow pansy. The petals touching his fingertips were strangely warm, and that warmth felt chilling instead.
He stared at the flower and suddenly remembered the language of yellow pansies.
—Please think of me.
That short sentence was lighter than a petal, but strangely, it sank heavily like a lump of lead inside his chest.
Once again, a tiresome and painful cough arrived, and this time, not just one, but countless yellow petals fell beside him.
He silently picked them up and held them in his hands. As if catching a scattering heart, as if blocking water flowing through his fingers.
And after looking down at the petals for a long time, Toya spoke very softly toward the empty dawn, without even realizing it himself.
"...I wonder if you'll think of me, just once."
