He chuckled softly.

You leaned your head against his shoulder while the rain continued outside.
After a quiet moment, Adrian spoke again.
Adrian: “Do you want to go hiking this weekend? The weather’s supposed to clear up.”
You: “Only if we stop at that little bakery on the way back.”
He laughed.
Adrian: “Deal. But only if you help me choose what we’re bringing for lunch.”
You: “I can do that.”
He reached over and intertwined his fingers with yours.
Adrian: “Sounds like a perfect day.”
You squeezed his hand gently.
You: “As long as I’m with you, it usually is.”
