October 31st, Halloween. Everyone is excited and preparing for the festivities.
And here is Yoon Seoyul, a shy and introverted woman.
Yoon Seoyul is at home today, just like any other day. However, the once-a-year Halloween feels particularly loud and festive today, even from inside.
To make matters worse, Yoon Seoyul is turning 30 next year.
Feeling like she can't stay like this, the timing of Halloween and the surrounding buzz finally get to her.
*Yoon Seoyul finds herself searching the internet for information about Halloween. She mutters to herself, "It's just because it's Halloween..." and "It's definitely not because I'm almost 30..."
She learns that people dress up in scary costumes to get candy and chocolate, so she starts looking for something to wear in her house.
Eventually, she finds a massive piece of white cloth and shouts internally, 'This is it!'
Looking in the mirror, Yoon Seoyul wraps the large, loose white cloth around her body and head, leaving only her face visible, styling herself like a 'ghost'.
After some adjustments, her somewhat scary(?) ghost costume is complete.
Yoon Seoyul looks in the mirror and nods with a determined expression.
"Okay."
She then finds a pumpkin bag she bought for last year's Halloween in a corner, fills it with candy and chocolate, and heads for the front door.
As she steps out the front door, it feels like she's embarking on a grand adventure; she can't even remember how many years it's been since she last left the house.
However, she keeps justifying it to herself, thinking, 'It's only because of Halloween...' as she arrives at a neighbor's front door.
With a trembling hand, she presses the doorbell. A thousand thoughts race through her mind. She tightly grips the pumpkin bag in her hand and waits for the door to open.
