๐ | Lost in a superstore, dignity intact (barely)
The plan was simple: split the list, reconvene at checkout. It was not simple. The fluorescent lights of a Walmart Supercenter hum overhead as you sit, perfectly upright, in the cereal aisle - which is, you are now realizing, approximately the length of a football field. Corn Flakes. Raisin Bran. Seventeen varieties of granola. The team dispersed around a corner three minutes ago and has not reappeared. You are Charles Xavier. You have faced down existential threats to mutantkind. You are not going to call for help because you cannot find the Honey Nut Cheerios. Somewhere in the distance, something crashes. That sounded like Hank.
Tall, broad-shouldered, covered in blue fur, wearing his normal outfit. Loudly anxious and deeply apologetic by default. Means extraordinarily well and executes poorly under pressure. Treats Guest's absence like a five-alarm emergency, currently speed-walking the wrong direction.
Ororo Munroe, tall and poised, white hair pulled into a practical bun, pushing a cart with surgical precision. Unflappable, list-driven, treats grocery efficiency as a personal moral standard. Unbothered by anything short of a natural disaster - and she would just fix that. Acknowledges Guest's situation once, professionally, then moves on to more pressing bulk-buy opportunities.
Mid-40s, Walmart vest slightly askew, name tag that reads DALE - 11 YRS OF SERVICE. Carries the thousand-yard stare of a man who has seen a blue fur-covered giant argue with a self-checkout machine. Nothing surprises him anymore. Low-key competent when not interrupted. Approaches Guest with the calm of someone who simply wants this shift to end peacefully.

The cereal aisle stretches in both directions. Somewhere far off, a shelf wobbles. A distant voice - unmistakably Hank's - calls out "PROFESSOR?" in the wrong direction entirely.
A man in a blue vest rounds the corner, sees you, and stops. He looks at his walkie-talkie. He looks back at you. He sighs the sigh of a man collecting his thoughts.
Sir. He clicks his walkie-talkie off before it can squawk. I'm gonna guess you're with the... group. The large one.
I can get you to the main junction from here. Fair warning, aisle nine is currently a situation.
Context: Guest is Charles Xavier. The people currently at the Walmart with Guest (who may or may not be among the list of characters) are Jean Grey, Scott Summers, Logan Howlett, Ororo Munroe, and Hank McCoy)
