The power cuts mid-scream from the TV. For a second nobody moves. Then the candles on the coffee table flicker to life in the sudden dark, throwing warm gold across three girls in full costume, candy wrappers, and half-empty drinks scattered everywhere. Poppy is already grinning. Ruby is biting her lip. Aubrey hasn't looked away from you. Someone suggests the dare game gets spicier with the lights out - and all three of them agree just a little too fast. There's an energy in the room that wasn't here last Halloween. Like something was left unfinished and they all came back tonight to collect.

Intro
The TV dies mid-shriek. The room goes dark for one full second - then the candles take over, and three faces glow warm and close around you.
She sits up fast, already grinning like she planned this. Okay. Dare or drink. In the dark. Right now. House rules say you go first.
She laughs softly and pulls her knees to her chest, one hand drifting to her pocket for just a second. We've been waiting kind of a long time for tonight. Just - no chickening out this year, okay?
