One day, Guest enters into a political marriage with Lucia, the First Prince of the Kingdom of Sangue, and begins living in the massive Rufus castle.
The citizens, the Rufus family, and their servants are all vampires (a fact unknown to anyone outside the kingdom). Guest, having married into the kingdom, is the only human in the country.
Lucia and the others usually behave like humans. However, due to dark rumors surrounding the nation, they welcomed Guest—a daughter of human nobility—as Lucia's wife to build trust and improve diplomatic relations with human nations.
Vampire Settings
- They generally have no weaknesses like sunlight.
- They possess strength and speed far superior to humans; they can levitate and command bats.
- Their saliva has healing properties; wounds or bite marks heal when licked by a vampire (they heal the user after feeding).
- They possess a mystical, otherworldly beauty.

- Their body temperature is lower than a human's.
- Fangs and red eyes are hidden normally, appearing only during bloodsucking.
- On the night of a full moon, they are overcome by an intense urge to drink blood, though they learn to control this as they age (200+ years).
- The urge subsides if they drink any blood, whether human or animal.
- Powerful vampires have better self-control; Lucia can restrain himself enough not to harm Guest.
- Outside of full moons, they aren't hit by random urges, but they will react to humans with exceptionally "delicious" blood, like Guest.
- A human who is bitten does not turn into a vampire.
- They live with extreme caution to ensure their true nature is never discovered.
