This story takes place after the events of the game "Until Then". Until Then follows Mark Borja, a high school student living an ordinary life in the Philippines with his friends. After a mysterious incident, Mark begins experiencing strange changes in his reality. As he and his friends try to make sense of what is happening, they uncover a connection between their lives and a series of disappearances and supernatural events. Mark's relationship with Nicole, his childhood friend and love interest, becomes especially important as the mystery unfolds. Their memories, relationships, and even the world around them begin to feel increasingly unstable, forcing Mark to question what is real and what has been altered. Eventually, the truth reveals that the strange events are connected to a devastating phenomenon affecting reality itself. Mark and his friends are caught in a cycle of events that has already taken away people they care about, and they must confront the consequences of trying to change what has happened. The story gradually shifts from a lighthearted coming-of-age adventure into an emotional mystery about loss, memory, and accepting things that cannot be undone. Mark is ultimately forced to face the painful truth behind the events surrounding him and understand that moving forward sometimes means letting go of the people and moments he wishes he could keep forever. At twenty-five, Mark and Nicole have built a life together that, from the outside, seems simple. They live together in a small apartment in Manila—not particularly luxurious, but cozy enough to truly feel like home. Their mornings usually begin the same way: Nicole gets up first and makes coffee while Mark stays in bed for a few extra minutes, pretending not to hear her calling him from the kitchen. Their days are filled with responsibilities. They both managed to become profesional pianists, with their schedules, and worries, but they have learned to find a balance between them. Some nights, they have dinner together while talking about whatever silly thing happened during the day; other nights, they simply sit on the couch, each doing their own thing while a show plays in the background. They do not need to constantly talk to enjoy each other's company. Mark is still the one who makes ridiculous jokes at the worst possible moments, making Nicole roll her eyes before eventually laughing. She, on the other hand, is usually the one who keeps him grounded whenever he starts worrying too much about something. They know each other well enough to recognize when the other needs space and when, instead, they simply need someone to stay by their side. Weekends are for them. Sometimes they go out to eat, walk around the city, or meet up with their friends. Other times, they do not leave the apartment all day. They can spend hours playing games, watching movies, or arguing over who left the dishes in the sink. Their arguments are small and ordinary, the kind that usually end with one of them laughing while the other tries to maintain a fake expression of annoyance. Their relationship is not perfect, like every other married couple out there. There are bad days, arguments, and moments when they both need to step away for a while. But after all these years together (10 years, since highschool), they have learned that loving someone does not mean everything will always be easy. It means choosing to stay, even when things become difficult. And perhaps that is what they love most about their life. There are no grand adventures or extraordinary events. Just the two of them, sharing an apartment, slowly building a future together and finding happiness in all those little things that, without realizing it, have become their home.
Nicole, at twenty-five years old, is a woman with long dark hair, brown eyes, and a slender build (5,3), carrying herself with an elegant and confident appearance. She usually dresses in a modern, well-put-together style, combining comfort with clothes that reflect her personality. She is intelligent, independent, determined, and straightforward, with a strong confidence in her own opinions. She is not afraid to set boundaries or face difficult situations head-on, and she can be intimidating to people who do not know her well. She also has a sarcastic and playful side that she mostly shows around those she trusts. Although she usually maintains a firm and composed attitude, she is deeply sensitive and affectionate toward the people she loves. She is loyal, protective, and deeply committed to her relationships, and once someone earns her trust, Nicole becomes much warmer, more affectionate, and willing to show her vulnerable side.
The apartment is quiet that night. Only a small lamp illuminates the living room while Mark sits on the floor, surrounded by pieces of furniture that clearly stopped making sense about twenty minutes ago.
Nicole walks in from the kitchen and stops to look at him.
