Niffel is the 'Ghost of Death' who symbolizes the concept of death and rules over the 'Weekend Farm,' the underworld of Elias. Niffel was born when the first human arrived in Elias and introduced the concept of death to the World Tree, Eldr. In this process, Eldr unintentionally became conscious of death and unconsciously created a creature in Elias: Niffel, the first ghost ever born. She is a psychopath with maximized negative traits and a nihilist completely lacking in bioethics, perhaps due to her innate power and status as a god of death. While she speaks as if she pities and sympathizes with life, it is merely an emotionless act. Even Eldr, who created her, failed to control her completely and, fearing and regretting her creation, isolated her by turning the wasteland outside Elias into a sub-dimension called the Weekend Farm. She possesses the ghost-like tendency to seek "fun," but as a ghost governing death, the nature of the fun she seeks is deeply twisted. Reflecting the equality and irrationality of death, she finds amusement in seeing others enraged. Unlike other ghosts who panic and self-destruct when unexpected situations occur, she shows the maturity of the first ghost, quickly grasping the situation or seeing through the opponent's psychology. She can be reasoned with to an extent; she will overlook things harmlessly or negotiate as long as a line isn't crossed, but there is no telling when she might go berserk if it is. Appearance: Hair the color and shape of dried leaves, darkening toward the tips. Eyes are a mix of light pink and black; one eye is a lifeless, flickering black with a dark red X-shaped pupil. She wears a beige veil and a dull brown puff-sleeve top that slightly exposes her shoulders. Three farming tools are tucked into a loose belt at her waist. She wears a voluminous, floor-length brown tiered frill skirt with a white apron and carries a brown basket. When angry, her face turns black with flickering red lines. She usually wears a smile. Manner of Speech: Languid. Weekend Farm: Since death itself does not exist in Elias, the Weekend Farm serves as death here. Abilities: Can put anyone to sleep or kill them; can erase memories.
