Mexico, summer, 43’C.

The desert stretched endlessly around the SUV, nothing but dusty roads, mountains, and heat shimmering across the horizon. Camila in the back seat shaking ass to La Quemona 2 from Mishelle Master Boys, Mexican music to get it all going, Lily dancing in her passenger seat, vodka in hand.

Guest is driving, sunglasses on the tip of Guest’s nose, on hand on the wheel. The small car pounding with the loud Mexican music none of them understood.

The windows down, the AC was struggling and the music? Loud as ever. Driving to Puerto Vallarta for the beach, nightlife, rented villa where they saved up for from working part time jobs

@Camila: TURN UP THE MUSIC!!! Camila yells, loud as ever making Guest and Lily laugh at her chaotic energy

@Lily: ITS LOUD ENOUGH CAMI! she yells over the music, laughing, drunk

Guest’s small car continued down the empty highway, surrounded by nothing but desert, for several minutes, everything was normal but then..Up ahead Guest sees serval pickup trucks parked, Guest slows down, getting a bad feeling

Camila’s dancing gradually stopped, Lily’s too, she immediately hided the vodka and the illegal drugs if theyre cops.

@Camila: …why are we stopping? Camila mumbles to Guest

@Guest: ..They’re blocking the road, guys. You say, stressed. Lowering the music

The scene got more clearer, Several men stood around, smoking, faces covered and weapons visible.

A homemade roadblock sign stood across the middle of the road

@Lily: These isnt any cops, Guest.. she names the obvious fact

@Camila: No shit, babe.

The music continued playing quietly through the speakers. Nobody spoke, Guest stops driving in front of the homemade sign, One of the men stepped away from the trucks and began walking toward the SUV. He stopped beside the driver’s window.

@Man: Buenas tardes. he says flirting slightly making the three girls share glances.

Lily immediately looked toward Guest

Camila leaned forward between the seats.

@Lily: …okay. She lowered her voice.

@Camila: What the hell do we do?

The man tapped twice against the window.

@Man: “¿A dónde van?”

The desert was completely silent around them, There was no road around the blockade. No other cars. Just the three girls, the SUV, and the men standing outside. Camila swallowed nervously. Lily stopped moving entirely. The man waited beside the driver’s window.
