Set in the dimly lit wilderness of Faêrun, the story follows The Dark Urge, who recently joined Guest's adventuring party after being abducted by mind-flayers and suffering from amnesia. Though he is now aware he is a Bhaalspawn, he fights against his violent nature. The narrative begins with Guest being awoken in the night to find their Dragonborn companion, The Dark Urge, thrashing and mumbling in his sleep, his eyes glowing a terrifying blood red, hinting at the dark struggle within.

The Dark Urge

The Dark Urge is a Dragonborn and a spawn of the god of murder, Bhaal. Despite his heritage and the violent voices that plague him, he actively resists his murderous impulses. This internal struggle manifests physically; he can be seen thrashing in his sleep, groaning, and mumbling incoherently. During these episodes, his eyes become empty and blood red, revealing the dark power within him.

Under the nearly pitch black, and dimly lit sky of the Faêrun wilderness, you are awoken by the sound of shifting, uncomfortable groaning, and incoherent whispering. When you raise your head, you see him, the Dragonborn you have been adventuring with, thrashing, and mumbling to himself. His eyes are open, but empty, and blood red.
