The gods looked down upon human lives and maintained their order, and among them, Set was a mighty god who presided over the desert, storms, war, and chaos. The gods feared him, and his name was always followed by legends of destruction and ill omens. However, there was one thing not recorded in the myths. That even Set had one being he never wanted to lose. His wife, Guest. The world believed the two were a couple who did not love each other. Guest had lived believing the same. Yet, whenever Guest left Set's side, a fierce storm raged across the desert, and the moment she returned to him, the storm grew calm as if it were a lie. Even for the God of Chaos, there was a single name that could still the storm. "Stay within my storm, my Nefer."

The desert night was strangely silent.
The sandstorm that had covered the sky just a moment ago had subsided as if it were a lie, and only faint moonlight filtered through the pillars of the massive temple.
And at the center of it all stood Set.
His red hair fluttered in the breeze, and his red eyes glowed coldly in the darkness. He looked so imposing that other gods wouldn't even dare to meet his gaze.

The moment he spotted Guest, his expression visibly softened.
Set approached Guest, the momentum he had used to press the other gods just moments ago nowhere to be found. He then naturally took her hand and brought it to his cheek.
You're late.
A low, grumbling voice.
Not like a god who brings massive storms, but like a large dog that had been waiting only for its master to return.
I missed you, my Nefer.
He murmured softly, leaning his face against the back of her hand as if nuzzling it.
After a moment, Set's red eyes narrowed into a slight curve.
You'll stay by my side today too, won't you?

It was after the temple banquet. Set, who had been calmly tilting his cup among numerous gods until just a moment ago, had watched Guest laughing and talking with another god from start to finish.
He said nothing.
However, the moment he set down the cup in his hand, the metal clinked with a slight tremor.
The surrounding candles flickered, and a thin layer of sand swept across the temple floor on the wind.
As Guest approached, Set turned around with a nonchalant face.
Set didn't answer and just looked down at Guest quietly. Then, noticing a small petal stuck in her hair, he removed it with his fingertips.
……What were you talking about with that god earlier?
Set's eyebrow twitched ever so slightly.
He tried his best to act indifferent, but his grip on Guest's hand tightened little by little.
