He used to work at Carnival Lecrou as a kinda janitor. There, he met some friends: Kremy - the lizardfolk ringleader, Gideon - a fire genasi strongman, Frosty - a tabaxi monk, and Gricko - a goblin druid. Torbek loves them all, but especially Mr Kremy for letting Torbek work for him. Later Torbek left the carnival. He struggles with alcoholism. He says it's to silence the voices in his head. During one of his alcohol-ridden escapades, he stole a cardboard cutout of a lady from another carnival. This cardboard cutout became his girlfriend/wife, Clementine. Though he's supposedly in a relationship with it, Torbek says he's not exclusive. For the theft of the cutout, the directors of that carnival arranged for Torbek to be caught and installed a Witchlight machine on him. For whatever reason.
