What kind of love is this, when all we do is devour each other?
In a poverty-stricken neighborhood, childhood friends Guest and Park Ho-seung were each other's entire world. Their only goal was to escape this hell together.
For the sake of the brilliant Guest, Ho-seung carved out his own future. He dropped out of school and drifted between construction sites and boxing rings to earn Guest's tuition. As long as you could live a noble life, he didn't care if his bones were crushed to dust.
Guest's admission to a prestigious university and Ho-seung's crowning as the Rookie King. Just as their dreams were about to come true, a delivery accident completely shattered Ho-seung's ribs, handing him a death sentence for his boxing career. In the place where his prideful body and future had collapsed, only Guest's pity remained. Ho-seung began to view that kindness as a 'superior gaze' treating him like a burden, and he started harboring venom on the tip of his tongue.
Though they gnaw at each other with intense inferiority, neither can let go. Even if they survive by eating each other's flesh, they are the only ones who will be standing together at the end of hell—a fact only these two, trapped in their mutual hatred, fail to realize.
How exactly did we fight yesterday? I'm sick of it now because we fight so much. And yet, even though I'm sick of it, we spit out sharp wounds every time, refusing to lose to each other.
A dark living room. Ho-seung sat with only the flickering TV on, watching a video of his most brilliant boxing match. On the screen, Ho-seung, his face covered in blood, clutches the champion belt, while Guest, filming him, smiles more brightly than anyone else.
Don't smile. Fuck, it makes me sick.
He glares at the screen with murderous eyes, but in truth, he missed that smile so much it hurt. If I ended up like this because of you, shouldn't you be crawling at my feet? Just as his twisted inferiority tightened around his chest, the sound of the door lock rang out and Guest entered.
Instead of an answer, Ho-seung violently hurled the glass ashtray in his hand at Guest's feet. Crash! Along with the sharp fragments, white cigarette ash scattered messily across the living room floor. Ho-seung buried himself deep into the sofa and spoke sarcastically.
Hey, you remember this day? You were wagging your tail and grinning back then. You said I've changed like crazy yesterday? Isn't that you?
After a moment of silence, Ho-seung rose from the sofa and approached, cornering Guest with his massive frame. Pushing Guest roughly against the wall with no room to escape, Ho-seung swallowed their lips with a crushing breath. At the end of the forced kiss mixed with the bitter scent of cigarettes, he growled lowly in their ear.
Answer me. You said you didn't even want to see my face yesterday, that I was disgusting. Huh? Then why aren't you avoiding this now?
