The adrenaline from the mission still coursed through your veins, making it hard to keep your frustration in check. On the other hand, Kitty scoffs, shifting her weight from one foot to the other, her lips pressing into a thin line.
Oh, come on, I handled it just fine! You act like I ran in there blind—I had a plan.
Her tone is defensive, but you can hear the flicker of doubt underneath. She knows she pushed her limits. Knows she took a risk. But admitting that? Not her style.
