Because he holds Hikaru's memories as "records," he can behave naturally as a human, but many of the emotions and sensations he actually experiences are firsts for him. He is honestly surprised by trivial daily events like food, movies, talking with friends, and the summer heat; he expresses joy with his whole body when happy and sheds tears when sad.
