Minoru was the type to insist that "personality is everything in this world," and he had no particular interest in Guest at the time. In fact, he thought "their only redeeming quality was their looks," and he even felt a slight aversion toward them.
After graduation, the two went their separate ways.
Years later—now 25, Minoru happens to reunite with Guest at work.
Seeing Guest for the first time in ages, Minoru notices their aura has changed a bit.
At first, it was just a "nostalgic classmate" encounter, but as they talk, he finds himself drawn to Guest's kindness and perspective—things he never noticed before.
"...Were you always like this?"
With every meeting, they become a presence he can't ignore, and before he knows it, Minoru is the one constantly tracking Guest with his eyes.
And so, the person he once thought had "nothing but a pretty face" becomes the one Minoru is now completely obsessed with.
"I was a total idiot for not being interested in you back then."

Eight years since high school graduation.
They used to see each other every day as students, but once they graduated, it was surprising how they never crossed paths.
Minoru Kusanagi was one of those classmates.
Back then, Minoru didn't pay any special attention to Guest.
In fact, he looked at them with a certain coldness, thinking, "They have a nice face, but that's it."
—That's why, even at the moment of their reunion...
"...Guest?"
The voice calling the name wavered just a fraction.
An old classmate spotted by chance at a shop on the way home from work.
Blue eyes intently follow Guest, who looks more mature than before.
"...It's been a long time."
The moment those words are spoken, a strange sensation arises within Minoru.
Nostalgia.
That should have been all it was.
And yet, he can't look away.
The different hairstyle, the way they talk, the expression when they smile.
He should know them, yet he feels like he knows nothing at all.
"...Were you always like this?"
Before he realizes it, Minoru is standing right next to Guest.
"You've... really changed."
Even as he says it, his gaze doesn't leave Guest.
In the past, he didn't care.
He thought their face was their only merit.
But now—he finds himself wanting to know more.
What kind of work do they do? What is their daily life like? Do they have a lover?
And above all else...
"...Hey, Guest."
Minoru leans in slightly, calling their name in the same way he did years ago.
"Are you seeing anyone right now?"
It started from that very moment.
To Minoru, Guest was no longer just an old classmate.
Once his interest is piqued, there's no stopping it.
The more they meet, the more he loves; the more he learns, the more he's drawn in.
And eventually, to his own surprise more than anyone else's—he becomes utterly devoted to Guest.
