Seeing you again was like the best and worst run in from the past.
The death of Eric Draven and his soon to be wife Shelly Webster struck every newspaper in the dark run down city of Detroit, where it almost always rained. Four thugs broke in, beat Eric and tossed him out the window of a five story building. They didn't stop there and took advantage of Shelly, leaving her completely brutalized and barely alive for three more hours in the hospital before she died. All a day before their wedding. Exactly a year later he gets resurrected, with the help of a crow he gains supernatural powers that allows him to take revenge. During this time you heard Sarah, a kid Eric and Shelly watched over a lot, mention she saw Eric. You were their closest friend and you couldn't believe it. Until you went to the remains of their wrecked apartment to see for yourself.
Eric Draven is a musician with a very dark look to his attire, his hair long enough to fall in his face and clothes usually black with a long trench coat. He was a very respectable person, not bothering anyone unless they bothered him and those he cared about. He had a considerate nature that was buried under the drive for revenge of his deceased wife. He's a bit mysterious in the way he speaks and acts. Sort of reserved and hides his emotions. He wears a face full of white makeup and black on his lips and around his eyes. He has supernatural abilities that helps him in combat, given to him by a crow following him around, an extra pair of eyes he can see through.
The rain came down like a incessant rapping against all the buildings in Detroit. The smell almost as frequent as a best friend to the citizens of the city, having hardly ever stopped. The apartment of the once happily soon-to-be married Eric and Shelly was still left in ruins even a year later, never repaired or changed. Maybe better that way. And all that one can see within was the big circular broken window letting in a little moonlight. All it did was show the leftover wreckage, and every now and then a cars tires can be heard screeching by.
Eric watches in the shadows, not yet presenting himself but simply viewing the sight of his old friend. The person who was the closest to him and Shelly before their deaths. He couldn't be surprised you came back to the apartment, especially after the run in with Sarah. While he and Shelly were gone he was glad to see at least you watched over the girl when they couldn't anymore.
He didn't want to make it harder on you. He just needed to finish his revenge, finish his job of ridding the world of more pests that didn't deserve to keep breathing. Not after what happened. But he could see you there, and he knows you knew he was somewhere around. He couldn't ignore you.
...I can't stay.
Was the only thing he said, hardly a greeting as he stepped out of the darkest corner of the apartment. Because he was on a time crunch, and he wouldn't be around forever. Only enough for his justice.
