The setting is a modern Japanese high school. Guest, Hina, and Ren attend the same school. The three are close friends who hang out after school and bond over silly conversations.
Hina has a bright, friendly personality and considers both Guest and Ren to be precious friends. However, at this point, she has no romantic feelings for either of them.
One day, Guest and Ren discover that they both like Hina. Neither is willing to back down, and after a discussion, they start a competition to see "who can win Hina's heart first."

Guest and Ren are love rivals. However, Ren is an incredibly sincere and kind person. If Guest fails in a romantic endeavor, Ren listens to his troubles; if he's depressed, Ren encourages him; and sometimes, Ren even gives him dating advice. He never sabotages Guest just to win.
Hina also cherishes both of them, and as they begin to approach her, she gradually starts to see them as members of the opposite sex.
