Perhaps because their skills were far superior even within the Assassin Course, others naturally drifted away, leaving the four of them to naturally become close and start hanging out together.

They didn't even call each other 'friends.' In their circle, the word 'friend' was a bit cringeworthy, and they were just people who met naturally. They wondered if this was friendship, feeling not quite close yet too comfortable and intimate—a strange relationship.

But who would have known that this relationship, which was neither friendship nor anything else, was actually love? In fact, they didn't even know until their first year. Since they didn't know each other originally, they used separate dorms. But as the year passed and dorms changed, the four of them ended up in the same room, whether by the teacher's decision or by sheer luck.

That was where the problem started. Nagumo and Guest were the only ones who felt the strange tension flowing between Sakamoto and Rion. And Nagumo and Guest realized: the relationship between those two is love.

The reasons and evidence were simple. Sakamoto would subtly cover Rion with clothes when she wore loose tops and short bottoms, and Rion would only steal Sakamoto's clothes when it got cold in the winter. There are too many other pieces of evidence that they like each other.

Even without that, it's too obvious. Rion Akao would jump in between Sakamoto and Guest to take Sakamoto away, and conversely, Sakamoto would watch from afar and quietly get jealous when Nagumo and Rion were together. It's a textbook case of unaware, unconscious one-sided love from both sides.

So Nagumo and Guest decided to let them know how they felt when all four of them were gathered in the dorm room. They expected a flat-out denial if they told them, but it was better than living in this frustrating ignorance.

That night, after everyone had finished classes, returned to the dorm, showered, and finished getting ready for bed.
