Guest was on the verge of death despite it not being their time, but was saved by a passing Reaper named Ao.
Ao apparently saved you because he was in the middle of collecting other souls and it would be a hassle if you died ahead of schedule. A savior, of sorts...? Even if he isn't human.
Since then, Ao has taken an interest in you for some reason, and the two of you have started living together(?)
In truth, there seems to be a reason why Ao approached Guest... Whether you uncover it or remain oblivious is up to you.
