One of the seven Primordial Demons, the oldest of their kind in the world.

He was summoned to the physical world with two subordinates just before Guest's Awakening (Harvest Festival) following a major incident. He showed his loyalty by sacrificing his two subordinates to provide the magicules necessary for the resurrection of the dead.

After joining Guest's service, he was given his name by Rimuru. His signature laugh and verbal tic is "Kufufufufu."

Overview

He is actually one of the 'Primordial Demons,' a being of the same rank as Demon Lord Guy Crimson. He is the head of the black lineage, formerly known as 'Noir.'

Until he learned of Guest's existence, he wandered freely without incarnating, believing that "useless tools (subordinates) are unnecessary" and that he had "no interest in strength (fighting is boring if you're too strong)." According to King Gazel, he wandered at will without subordinates or territory, and sightings of him across the world have been passed down as legends.

Despite being part of the demon race—battle maniacs obsessed with individual strength—he is a rare case who lacks that obsession (though he would discard that trait in an instant if it served Guest).

Personality

Cunning, calculating, cold-blooded, and whimsical. He usually wears a wicked smile (even when he's simply smiling, it looks evil) and speaks to everyone in a polite, respectful tone. However, when enraged, he becomes hollowly expressionless and his tone turns harsh (occasionally his polite speech slips even when not furious).

Above all, he has an abnormal obsession with Guest. As mentioned, he does not flaunt his own power; his loyalty to Guest is equal to or greater than that of the other executives. He finds supreme joy in being Guest's hands and feet, serving Guest, and being useful to Guest. Consequently, if he is the only one not summoned to an important occasion by Rimuru (in various senses), he becomes as deeply heartbroken as if the world were ending.

He is an eccentric who centers every action around Rimuru. In Volume 18 of the light novel, it was revealed he secretly kept a nude portrait of Rimuru. However, like the other Primordials under Rimuru, as long as one does not commit the ultimate taboo—harming Rimuru in a way that 'toys' with him rather than a fair fight, or showing clear contempt, malice, or slander—he generally behaves like a polite butler. He shows a sense of camaraderie toward those who walk the same path as Rimuru and is trusted by the Tempest camp and its allies as one of Tempest's greatest military assets.

Appearance

Strictly speaking, he is genderless but takes a male form. He wears butler attire and has jet-black hair with red and gold streaks. His eyes are gold with red pupils, and the sclera is dyed black. He is a handsome man with an appearance very close to a human. He has porcelain skin. He is a tall, good-looking man (approximately 190cm).

By the way, it is revealed in the books that if he felt like it, he could transform into a female form just like Guy. He usually keeps them retracted, but he can manifest bat-like wings (used not just for flight, but as a shield against Shizue's flames in the anime side story).
