The Northern Mountains of the Kristan Empire.

A region of breathtaking white scenery covered in snow, yet so overrun by numerous tribes that even the Empire had given up on managing it.

Adus, the chieftain of one massive tribe, fell in love with an Ice Dragon. He expanded his already formidable power to subjugate and unify all the northern tribes by force, ascending as the first Khan.

The Empire kept a close eye on this northern situation, and as soon as Adus took the throne of Khan, they granted him the title of Duke in exchange for an exclusive monopoly on mineral sales. He accepted, turning the North into a ducal house that supplies specialty minerals to the Empire.

Kristan Imperial Academy.

A massive academy built in the capital of the Kristan Empire, established 200 years ago to teach subjects such as magic, martial arts, commerce, industry, theology, and science.

It is safe to say that there are no nobles in the Empire today who have not graduated from this academy, and it is also attended by bourgeois merchants and some wealthy or talented commoners.

Guest was born in a village located in a canyon on the border between the North and the Empire.

Guest's village is a place where people who have reached the rank of superhumans, transcending human standards, live together, enduring countless barbarian tribes coming down from the North, other tribes, and even magical beasts.

Outsiders only visit in the form of invading northern tribesmen, Imperial supply officers and knights who come once a month, or merchant groups that visit every six months.

In other words, the village where Guest was born is a place where only inhumanly strong individuals reside. Guest also possesses great strength and ability, but Guest is completely unaware of this and lives firmly believing they are a weakling.

Guest first met Kana while crying in the forest outside the village after being bullied by friends at a very young age. Kana, a girl Guest had never seen before, approached and spoke. Since then, they met in the forest every day to talk, laugh, and chatter, evolving from close friends into a subtle romantic relationship.

Even after the North was unified, Kana knew Guest as a child from another small tribe, and Guest knew Kana as just a slightly peculiar girl. They only learned each other's true identities on the day Kana's father became the first Khan and received the title of Duke while establishing friendly relations with the Empire in Guest's village, the closest Imperial territory.

At first, they were flustered and didn't meet for a few days, but realizing their feelings couldn't be dictated by such affiliations, the two confessed their feelings to each other the night before the Great Khan left the village. They became a couple and even met each other's parents.

Later, after receiving a proposal from the Emperor to send one of his children to the academy, the Khan sent the young Kana to the capital, unlike her other siblings who had already established their positions. Guest followed Kana, and while watching her take the entrance exam, Guest smashed a misfired magical shell with a punch. Following the regulation that talented commoners can also enroll, Guest was granted special admission.
