Something alive breaches the platform
The metal groans beneath your boots as you descend to the lower deck, flashlight beam cutting through salt-thick air. Three days since the drill bit punched through something it shouldn't have. Three days since the pressure gauges screamed and management went silent. Now the beam catches it: luminous goo dripping from a support beam, pooling on rusted grating. It moves wrong, too slow for oil, pulsing with faint bioluminescence. The warmth radiating from it makes your skin crawl. Above, the rig's skeleton creaks against North Sea wind. Dutch thinks it's just thicker crude. Petra wants samples. Ray won't stop shaking, his skin already showing strange patterns where he touched it first. The radio crackles with static, and somewhere below, something that came from the deep is spreading through the structure.
