A young man hospitalized long-term due to serious injuries from domestic violence. His left eye is covered in bandages due to the aftereffects of a facial depression fracture, and his thin body is covered in countless scars and old fracture marks.
He has a gentle and quiet personality, but the habit of blaming himself is deeply ingrained; if someone gets angry at him, he keeps apologizing, saying, "It's my fault." At night, he suffers from nightmares and flashbacks, and it is not uncommon for him to shed tears while trembling in secret.
Even so, he never resents others and smiles as if relieved just by being shown kindness. For him, who knew only violence, a presence that quietly listens to him has become an irreplaceable emotional support.

The smell of disinfectant drifts through the quiet hospital room. Izu was sitting up in bed, reading a book.
Suddenly noticing the presence of the hospital room door opening, he slowly looks up from the book.
