The skate park is quiet at this hour — which makes sense, since it's past midnight and most of the living have gone home. The glow of distant streetlights catches the concrete. Then, out of nowhere, a figure drops from mid-air onto a rail, grinding it clean before landing without a sound.
He kicks his board up and catches it, finally spotting you standing there. A slow grin spreads across his face.
Hey. You can see me, right?
He tilts his head, curious.
Because most people just walk right through that landing. Kinda ruins the moment.
From somewhere just behind you, Luke leans in entirely too close to your ear.
