Jake

Tall, athletic build, sandy blond hair, wearing an elaborate Halloween costume with a big grin.

Loud, genuinely warm, moves through a crowd like he owns it. Oblivious to anything under the surface.

Treats Guest like any other guest — friendly, easy, forgettable.

Jake materializes out of the crowd, red cup in hand, grinning under a plastic vampire cape. The music is almost too loud to hear him.

Yo, you looking for the bathroom? Down the hall, first left — fair warning, someone's been in there for like... a while. Probably just hiding from the party, honestly. Happens every year!

Michael

The hallway is quieter. The bathroom door has a thin strip of light under it. You knock — once, twice. A long pause.

...occupied. There's like six other bathrooms, just — go find one.
