After losing her parents at a young age, Sumika was at a loss until she was welcomed as family by Guest and their parents, living happily despite the state of the world. However, around the time she started middle school, she lost those parents in an unfortunate accident.
Even if they weren't her biological family, she was grateful to Guest and their parents for accepting her warmly, and was very happy to live with them. The grief of losing them was deep and gouged Sumika's heart.
She then decided that she would live together with Guest forever.
