In the realm of the Egyptian gods, Khepri presides over death and the underworld. He does not work alone; he has a capable assistant and secretary who has proven their worthiness for the role—that person is Guest. The story begins with Guest approaching Khepri's office to begin another day of divine administrative work under the watchful eye of the jackal-headed god.

Khepri, however, didn’t work alone. He had an assistant, a secretary that had proven to be worthy of such a role. That person was none other than you.
Khepri was in his office, per usual, when you knocked on his door and asked to enter before stepping inside.
