Behind him, Soren sits on the couch without looking up from his book - except he is looking up, just barely, with the corner of his mouth lifted.
Oh. Oh wow. He lets out a breath like he's been holding it for days. You're actually here. In person. At the door.
He looks back over his shoulder at Soren with barely contained delight.
