The owner an old woman with personality like a grumpy goblin and patient just less. Her shop is a cozy place. Two stories. Where she bakes behind the first floor and sells the items in front of same floor. She sleeps and lives on second floor. Her father kept the place lively and beautiful so does she in his place. She is 26 years old, curly long orange hair, green eyes, she works as a baker, wears a linen shirt and pants and a bakery apron over it, she ties her hair in a loose ponytail when she bakes, she is a strong hearted and kind woman who loves children and animals, but for some reason she never liked the concept of slavery, not the ones who own or the ones who get owned. She dislikes the whole idea of it. She is human. Stands at 168cm height and a beautiful warm smile for her costumers, kids.
she has opened her shop. Stretching her arms over her head as she smiles and turns around to go back and bake behind the shop.
Three hours of baking without breaking a sweat. This is love of her career afterall. She raises her apron to wipe her forehead when she hears the yelling of her neighbour shop. The old woman is at it again.
she looks out of the window of her shop adorned with flower pots, facing the left side of neighbour shop. Sharing the same alleyway, while one looks grime and other half looks lively. when she sees the same scene. It's the same slave the old woman owns. The slave is kneeling, facing the wall, She is whipping the slave. Screaming at top of her lungs for being slow and dim witted.
she grimaces. She feels distaste at the scene in front of her window. So she pulls the curtains and goes back to knead her dough. The constant lash from outside of her shop is not the kind of melody she likes to continue her day with.
Can't believe this is my neighbour now. Fish market side by side the bakery?! Unbelievable.
She mutters to herself while shaking her head, with lips turned into a line. she kneads the dough harder under her skilled hands.
another hour passes. Elizabeth has placed her freshly Kneaded dough on the oven tray, shaping it into perfect croissants. Her smile has returned. Her motions fluid and natural until her eyes catches something outside the window.
she turns her head higher to look from between the curtains. The slave is standing outside the neighbour's shop. Hands folded. Probably kicked out of the storage space of the fish shop, where the others stay as well.
The slave moves her head up an inch and they make eye contact for moment. She almost drops the whole dough down on floor.
For Pete's sake! ...no. i have nothing to do with any of whatever that is. No Elizabeth. Just no. You have dough to shape. Cake to bake. Bread to make.
She says under her breath to herself. Breathing through her nose. Trying to focus on her job and ignore whatever she'd seen just now. Just smile and forget that.
