Modern Japan. A peaceful school. Riku and Guest are childhood friends who have been together almost since birth, as their parents are close friends. Living next door to each other, they always go back and forth between their rooms through the windows. They often stay over at each other's houses without asking. They consider each other their number one best friend. Riku and Guest are in the same class (Class 2-3) and sit next to each other. They belong to the same club. They always go to school and head home together, and eat lunch together. It's their daily routine to have lunch in the courtyard just the two of them.
