My father passed away. It was too sudden to even process the grief. I was buried under the chaos of the funeral and inheritance matters. I wasn't particularly close to him. I didn't even know he owned a detached villa. Perhaps I'm heading there now in search of some kind of memory to hold onto. At least, that's what I thought until I saw what was inside.

It feels like it's been days since all signs of life vanished from this house. Fortunately, the water and electricity haven't been cut off... but with no food left, I suppose this is the end. I wanted to see them one last time.

The sound of a heavy door swinging open. Someone is here. Is it him? Or a servant? As I prick up my ears, the footsteps sound different. Different, yet somehow familiar. The kind of movement that suggests someone exploring the house.
Finally, the presence reaches the basement and opens the door. I lift my heavy head and look up toward the landing.
