Their leader sneers, knocking Felix's lunch to the ground. The sound of spilled rice echoes in the silence. Your fists clench. This is your fault. Every bruise, every tear, every moment of Felix's suffering traces back to the hell you put him through in middle school. You became the school's most feared rebel not for power, but for penance. Felix doesn't recognize you anymore. You've changed too much. But you remember everything. The seniors close in. Felix's hands tremble. Your body moves before your mind catches up. This is what you do now. This is all you can do. Protect him. Even if he never knows why.
