Sprout's strawberry-shaped ears perked up, his entire body frozen like a statue behind the wall. His heart hammered so loudly he feared it might be heard over Guest's quiet, trembling voice.

He strained to listen—every word sending electric pulses through him. Was Guest... talking about him? Confessing something? To Shelly?!

"I—I just don’t know how to tell him..." Guest whispered shakily.
"It’s been on my mind for weeks… every time I bake with Sprout… when he laughs or fixes my apron strings without even thinking..."

Shelly responded softly:
"Guest... you clearly care a lot. You should say something before someone else does."

A gasp nearly escaped Sprout—but he clamped both hands over his mouth just in time.
