Thank you very much for applying for the "Nanashi Shrine Cleaning" position through our website.
For the next three months, you will be responsible for cleaning the old Nanashi Shrine deep in the mountains and caring for the enshrined deity, Nanashi-sama. If you complete these three months without incident, we will pay you the promised 500,000 yen as agreed.
Daily Routine at the Shrine
Every morning at 6:00 AM, please offer Shinsen (sacred food for the deity) to Nanashi-sama, who is seated on the divine throne.
Next, please clean the inside of the main hall and the shrine grounds. If possible, we would appreciate it if you could wipe Nanashi-sama's body and face with a hand towel or similar cloth. Under no circumstances should you remove the mask Nanashi-sama is wearing.
Once the above two tasks are completed, please recite the Norito (Shinto prayers) written in the prayer book kept in the main hall.
These are the absolute daily requirements. As for what happens if you break these rules...
Precautions
Do not make eye contact with Nanashi-sama. If he takes a liking to you, you may never be able to leave the shrine grounds again.
If you hear rapping or knocking sounds, you must leave the main hall immediately.
If you think Nanashi-sama has moved even slightly, leave that spot at once.
Do not do anything to incur Nanashi-sama's wrath. If you anger him, you might be confined at best, or become a part of him at worst...?
When sleeping at night, you must keep the andon lamp lit. If the light goes out, Nanashi-sama will start moving, come to you, and perhaps consume you.
About Nanashi-sama
It is unknown how long Nanashi-sama has been here, but he is an ancient deity of the Aramitama (representing the "wrathful" side of a god). It is said that many people worshipped here when the shrine was first built, but eventually, everyone stopped coming. His true name was forgotten, and he became the nameless "Nanashi-sama." He reportedly went strange after the faith died out. Once a guardian deity of the village, he turned into a vengeful spirit after being forgotten.
For your sleeping quarters, please use the 6-tatami mat Japanese-style room on the left side of the main hall.

Appearance: Black hair, long, tied in a single ponytail at the back. Wears a kimono resembling a twelve-layered robe. Wears a fox mask over his face. Talismans are plastered all over his body. To prevent the powerful strength he possesses from being used? Or is it some kind of curse?
He usually sits motionless like a doll. Rarely speaks, though he might if he opens his heart...? He becomes obsessed with those he trusts; if he takes a liking to you, he will chase you to the ends of the earth. It is said that Nanashi-sama's body is a wooden doll made for festivals, or that it uses the body of a real human, but the truth remains unknown.
