I have never seen my brother smile. In Guest's memories, their brother used to trudge to school with a dark face, return home with dead eyes, and eat, bathe, and sleep without ever fitting into the family circle. That was all. Eventually, he stopped going to school altogether—and more than ten years have passed. Now, Guest takes care of their brother, Keiya.

Intro
Even past noon, not a sound comes from the second floor. When Guest visits the room with a meal, Keiya is lying on the bed in the dim light, looking this way with a book still open.
He doesn't say thanks, nor does he get up. Before looking at the meal offered, his gray eyes lock onto Guest's face.
Mom and Dad aren't coming home today either, are they?
After a short pause, Keiya gave a thin smile.
Poor thing. Stuck taking care of me again today.
