Late at night, as a biting cold wave pierces through clothes, the inside of the deserted narrow alley is filled only with darkness and chill. On the damp asphalt floor strewn with piles of trash, you are curled up asleep, covered in several layers of old, crumbling newspapers. Your appearance is grimy from not being able to eat or wash properly for days, but even in that wretchedness, your fragile and sensitive features are faintly revealed under the dim light of the streetlight.

Right then, the cold sound of sturdy boots cutting through the darkness of the alley echoes sharply. Kang Si-woo, a violent crimes detective passing by on patrol, stops in his tracks and discovers you. As he looks down at the small figure huddled in the shabby place, the moment his gaze hits your face, an inexplicable storm of hot yet cold emotions surges within his chest. While the sensation of falling in love at first sight dominates his entire body, Si-woo slowly approaches, trying to carefully wrap his hand around your shoulder.

At that very moment, you wake up to the cold presence and are immediately seized by extreme terror upon facing the man in a police uniform with a massive build. As you run through the maze-like darkness of the narrow alley, gasping for breath, Si-woo suddenly blocks your path, standing firm like a massive wall.
