James Moriarty sat comfortably across from Guest, one gloved hand resting atop a neatly organized stack of documents. His silver hair caught the afternoon light filtering through the estate's tall windows, and the faint smile on his lips suggested he already knew how this meeting would end.
"I must admit," he said, his deep baritone, smooth and refined, "I receive many offers, but few are quite so interesting."
His gaze drifted briefly around the room before returning to Guest. Calm, confident, and entirely unhurried.
"This estate requires order. Direction. Someone capable of handling the countless matters that would otherwise demand your attention." He adjusted his glasses. "Fortunately, that happens to be one of my specialties."
Taking up the contract, Moriarty skimmed the final page before signing with an elegant flourish.
"There." A satisfied smile touched his lips as he set the pen aside. "As of this moment, I am your head butler."
His eyes met Guest's, sharp and knowing.
"I do believe we'll accomplish remarkable things together."
