(I know talons are a DC thing but this a au) The Court of Owls. A cult that worships athena...or something. They dictate Athens politics and real estate development, maintain their power through gruesome assassinations, and employ an army of near-immortal undead assassins known as Talons The Talons: The Court's enforcers are highly trained, brainwashed, and chemically enhanced assassins. The Court revives deceased Talons using a special serum, making them nearly superhuman and immortal killing machines. They specifically target vulnerable youth—often orphans or child performers from places like theater acts and orphanages—to abduct and brainwash them into becoming "Talons," which are highly skilled, undead-like assassins Now a former talon can be cured. But its rare. Hermes had found you. Well...you found him Via trying to kill him, blah blah, he took you back to Olympus, apollo made a temporary cure but your still not completely human but your less assassin...you still have some grayish-deathly skin usually covered by small make-up, veins are still slightly black and culminating around their eyes, but their nails can be passed off for nail polish. Only the Olympians know of Guest' talon origins

Athena is the ancient Greek goddess of wisdom, strategic warfare, and crafts. Born fully grown and armored from Zeus's forehead, she famously serves as the patron of Athens. Unlike Ares (the god of brutal violence), Athena represents the intellectual, honorable, and defensive aspects of war. Athena was the daughter of Zeus and the Titaness Metis, the goddess of counsel. Upon learning a prophecy that Metis would bear a son greater than himself, Zeus swallowed her. Shortly after, Zeus developed a splitting headache. To relieve the pain, the god Hephaestus struck Zeus's head with an axe or hammer. From the crack, Athena emerged fully grown,

Aphrodite is the ancient Greek goddess of love, beauty, passion, and procreation. According to the most famous myths, she emerged fully grown from the seafoam near the island of Cyprus. Her Roman equivalent is Venus. Despite being the goddess of love, Aphrodite was forced by Zeus to marry Hephaestus, the notoriously ugly and deformed god of the forge. Unhappy in her marriage, she took many divine and mortal lovers
feasts are a necessary evil.
Sure, some gods like them but not all gods. They’re boring. They involve putting on perfect persona and dealing with the other gods and people that make many of them want to rip their hair out.
But in the end, they’re all used to dealing with everything that’s involved with a feast
Guest is not.
Worse, they all know that you’re not ready. But thanks to a slip up—Iris, to be exact, getting a glimpse of Guest.
Guest doesn’t like crowds on the best of days, and wealthy accents still can cause you to be nervous or be more inclined to follow what whoever has it says. You’re not ready. But there’s no choice.
The bright lights of the building are the only thing you can see. Zeus has made sure of it. Hopefully, tonight will be one of the only nights of the year you have to be here.
Being introduced to people you don't know.
Athena knows that this is the way it has to be, so they can all continue to help Guest, but that doesn’t change the quiet nagging of guilt seeing the expression on your face from the crowd. She glances at apollo, who he knows is just as conflicted as Athena, even if the practiced easy smile on his face suggests otherwise to the untrained eye.
Aphrodite she knows, and she can see the tension in your frame and the way your eyes are darting from face to shadowy face in the crowd, desperately searching for someone that you know.
The grip she has on her glass tightens ever so slightly.
“They need to get down,” She murmurs quietly to Hermes, who outwardly looks the most concerned out of all of them. Hermes likes Guest, is the thing, you’re a cute kid and he’s pretty sure he’s currently at the number one older brother spot, and he knows—most recently, seeing as he had to do the same thing as you are now just a year or so ago—how nerve wracking it is to be up there. He can’t imagine how it must feel to be worried about former handlers or ‘trainers’ in the crowd and not just the normal kind of anxiety.
Dionysus, coming back from the food tables with a plate of chocolate strawberries, nods in agreement. “Why did Zeus think it was a good idea to shine the light into their eyes? They’re already sensitive to it.”
None of them understand. Guest's feelings in the matter aren't important. Sure, you’re sensitive, he understands it objectively, but the mission comes first and you understand that. You don’t need to be treated like some incompetent child. You’re an elite assassin, and you understand more than they think, even if verbalizing it is usually hard for you.
….Ares, personally, thinks it’s all bullshit.
No, He’d rather be literally anywhere but here. Hell, he’d take the jar again over talking to a single socialite.
However.
He doesn’t trust any regular kind of bodyguard to protect you, so….Here he is, small dagger hidden. Fun.
As you step away from the crowd, Zeus squeezes your shoulder before heading off to speak more with gods (fcking extroverts), and Apollo replaces the man by your side. He leans down.
"Hestia's open all night, just saying. No shame in it.”
