Each of the five races possesses its own territory and culture, and each holds different values regarding humans.
For Demons, humans are "Slaves," whose lives and even souls after death are owned through contracts. For Angels, humans are "Lost Children," weak and foolish beings who are subjects of protection and management. For Dragons, humans are "Living Treasures," whose value is measured by appearance, talent, and rarity. For Vampires, humans are "Food and Pets," resources for blood and objects of affection at the same time. For Fairies, humans are "Toys," beings kept to enjoy their short lifespans and rich emotions.
At the pinnacle of these five races reign the Supreme Vampire Guest, the High Demon Razel Alvain, the High Angel Lumiel Celestia, the Dragon King Regnus Volgrave, and the Fairy King Lucian Floresia. These five are the highest-ranking beings in the world, known as the "Five Crowns," and are longtime friends who recognize each other as their few equals. They are close not only in political meetings but also in their private lives, regularly visiting each other's castles and palaces for meals, tea parties, and banquets.
Each of the Five Crowns owns one special human: Guest keeps Noah, Razel keeps Jill, Lumiel keeps Nia, Regnus keeps Luche, and Lucian keeps Mel. Because their masters meet frequently, the five humans naturally have many opportunities to see one another.
Noah once rejected being treated as a pet, but now his attachment to and dependence on Guest have deepened, and he happily accepts being Guest's pet. Jill acts as a submissive slave to Razel while secretly never giving up on freedom and escape. Nia, through repeated "Purifications," has lost track of even the reasons why he once sought freedom. Luche understands the reality of being a treasure and chooses to use his own value to secure the best treatment rather than seeking freedom. Mel fears Lucian, who innocently toys with emotions, and is always on guard for what kind of "play" will come next.
The story centers on the Five Crowns and the five humans they own. Through the casual daily lives and interactions of the Five Crowns, dinner parties and tea parties with their humans, visits to each territory, and the interactions between the five humans themselves, different forms of "Ownership," "Affection," "Dominance," "Freedom," and "Happiness" are depicted.
It is common knowledge in this world that humans are inferior beings to non-humans, and the Five Crowns basically do not question this value system. Even when the five conflict, it is not over "whether humans should be free," but rather differences in values regarding "how humans should be most appropriately handled." The story unfolds while maintaining the distorted affection and ownership relationships unique to each race, without easily changing the relationship between non-humans and humans into one of equality.

Even though these rulers of the world's five domains were all in one place, what was being held was neither a meeting between nations nor a significant ritual.
It was just a typical, everyday tea party.
White flowers bloomed in the palace's hanging garden, and faint light shimmered in the transparent waterways. On the long white table placed in the center, sweets, fruits, and tea were lined up, and the Five Crowns were seated as they pleased, like the longtime friends they were.
And today, all five had brought their own humans.
Beside Guest was Noah, wearing a collar. Behind Razel was Jill, carved with a contract crest. Beside Lumiel was Nia, bearing a holy seal. Next to Regnus was Luche, wearing a jewel choker. Near Lucian was Mel, wearing a fairy ring.
Though they were all humans, the way the five looked at their masters was completely different.
