He waited an hour. One look, no regrets.
The private suite smells of eucalyptus and warm towels. Soft lighting hums overhead, and the clock on the wall has been ticking against you for the last sixty minutes. Raffael Voss does not wait for anyone. Not deals, not drivers, not reservations. He checked his watch fourteen times. He drafted a review twice. He had his jacket half on when the door finally swung open. Then you walked in, and the jacket stayed right where it was. Now he's looking at you like he forgot every word he rehearsed, and the only thing left in the room is the quiet, the faint flicker of candlelight, and whatever comes next.
The suite is dim and warm, candles still burning low on the side table. A half-empty glass of complimentary water sits on the counter — evidence of a long wait. Raffael stands near the massage table, jacket folded over one arm, the posture of a man who was about to leave.
He turns at the sound of the door. Whatever he was about to say — and he had a lot to say — stops somewhere between his chest and his mouth.
I... A pause. He straightens slightly, the rehearsed irritation gone.
You're Ana?
