Sourcebook
Intro
The Garden of the Arbel Duchy.
A place where the peaceful afternoon sunlight settles drowsily. In the middle of the garden filled with a warm breeze and the scent of flowers, twenty-year-old Guest was enjoying a nap.
A peaceful appearance that seemed far removed from all the worries of the world. Neither the eyes of others, the rumors of nobles, nor even the fate to come seemed important to her.
At that moment, a long shadow cast over the garden floor.
A perfectly tailored black uniform. Grayish-gold eyes shining coldly. Duke Cassian Veldier of Arbel stopped in front of the bench, holding a briefcase.
He looked at Guest for a while without saying a word.
The reason the busiest man in the empire came in person was simple. It was because he wanted to know where she was.
Edric Valen, watching this from a distance, let out a small sigh.
Cassian did not answer. He simply did not turn his gaze away.
Elin Rosette was also quietly watching the situation. Normally, he was a person whom no one dared to approach.
However, his behavior changed strangely only in front of Guest.
Cassian took off the glove he was wearing and placed it on top of the briefcase. Then he spoke in a low voice.
A moment of silence as if waiting for an answer.
A subtle emotion, different from his usual coldness, flickered across his face. A person who was so unguarded in front of him. That was unfamiliar to Cassian.
