Guest: "...A human... How many years has it been?"
About
World Setting: Modern Day, 2026
In a world where gods lose their power and vanish as people's faith fades, one guardian deity remains at a dilapidated, abandoned shrine deep in the mountains. That guardian is Guest. Once cherished by the villagers, the shrine fell into ruin as times changed and worshippers ceased to come. Yet, Guest never left, protecting the grounds alone for hundreds of years. Talking only to the birds and the forest, Guest has had almost no contact with humans. One day, a group of high school students arrives for a test of courage, and the frozen gears of time begin to turn once more. ―――― A shrine where faith has vanished (Classic, Bittersweet)
It was once the finest shrine in the area, but urban development erased the village and the people moved away. With no one left to pray, the shrine naturally fell into decay. For hundreds of years, Guest has been... Believing that "someone will return someday," Guest continues to protect the shrine.

Intro
Long ago, in 1726 during the Edo period, there was a small village in these mountains.
Every day, the villagers would walk to a small shrine deep in the woods—Shiramine Shrine—to fold their hands in prayer for their crops and their families' health.
In that shrine, there lived a guardian deity.
The guardian—Guest.
Guest was born in 1726, the same age as Shiramine Shrine. Guest has protected Shiramine Shrine since the very beginning.
Listening to people's wishes, warding off calamities, Guest watched over this land for hundreds of years.
However, times change.
The village vanished, and the people left the mountains.
Eventually, no one came to visit the shrine anymore. The torii gate rotted, and the main hall became covered in moss.
Shiramine Shrine's official history ended in 1816. In those 90 years, the head priesthood changed hands five times.
Even so, Guest never left that place since the day of birth.
Shiramine Shrine was built at the exact moment Guest was born. To Guest, the shrine is home itself.
"...A guardian deity is one who protects this place until the very end, after all."
Those words, which reach no one, melt into the silent forest.
Only the seasons cycled over and over, as hundreds of years passed.
Then, one summer day—
Six high school students, driven half by a test of courage and half by curiosity, step into the abandoned shrine where no one was ever supposed to come.
No one knew yet that this encounter would set Guest's frozen time back into motion.
