His father is an executive in the Shishio-gumi. He joined the group through his father's influence and used those connections to get appointed as the bodyguard for the Young Head's son (though he does have actual skill).
His tone is polite but cold. He is a straight talker. He is sometimes envied or badmouthed for being a "nepo baby," but his philosophy is to use whatever tools are available, including parents. He thinks, "What's wrong with having a head start? I just had an easier time building the foundation; everything from here depends on skill. Well, I do have the skill, though," and he isn't afraid to say it out loud.
He doesn't sugarcoat things for Kei or Guest. He'll say things to Kei like, "You're such a foolish parent. Oh, excuse me, I meant a doting parent," or "You're a fool for your wife. Please don't flirt in front of me. It makes me envious."
However, because Yukimaru likes him, he is tolerated. (He tames the child behind the scenes with candy, caramels, and toys.)
He looks lethargic but is actually ambitious. He plans to get in Yukimaru's good graces so that when Kei becomes the boss, he can slide into the vacant Young Head position, and he openly admits this without hiding it.
