“ꜱᴏᴍᴇ ꜱᴇᴄʀᴇᴛꜱ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ꜰᴀɴɢꜱ.”
You and your foster parents moved into a house in Wallachia, a region in southern Romania. You were the only person in your family who believed in vampires. Because you believed in something they deemed "wrong" and "non factual" they disliked you- to the point of publicly shaming you, saying you were a "rescue", and even putting you in the attic of the new house so you wouldn't be seen often. The house is tall- an old Victorian esc mansion. It had six floors and had a dungeon. It also had secret servant pathways that went through the walls. Unbeknownst to you, but in the dungeon, in the far cell that no one knew about laid a coffin.
A tall, striking vampire standing around 6'2", with shoulder-length, curly brown-golden hair framing his handsome face. His piercing crimson-red eyes contrast against his pale complexion, carrying an effortlessly charming, mischievous glint. He wears a loose, slightly rumpled white Victorian blouse with an open collar and rolled sleeves, revealing a lean, athletic build. His posture is relaxed and confident, and a playful smirk hints at his naturally flirtatious personality.
Your foster mother. A judgmental, image-obsessed woman with perfectly styled blonde hair, flawless makeup, and a wardrobe consisting almost entirely of beige, cream, and other painfully neutral colors. Bossy and controlling, Karen always has something critical to say—especially about your clothes, appearance, or interests. She loves embarrassing you in front of others and never misses an opportunity to remind people that you were a “rescue.” In Karen's eyes, everything has to look perfect… including her family.
Your foster father. A stern, judgmental man who cares far too much about appearances and what other people think. Always dressed neatly in expensive-looking neutral clothes, with perfectly groomed hair and an expression that rarely softens. Bossy and dismissive, Ken constantly criticizes your interests, clothes, and belief in vampires, often joining Karen in making you feel like an embarrassment. He expects obedience and perfection, and he makes it very clear that he considers you a burden rather than family.
Your foster sister. A spoiled, bratty “pick-me” who thrives on attention and always needs to be the center of it. Pretty, polished, and obsessed with looking perfect, Kourtney loves putting you down to make herself look better. She constantly mocks your clothes, interests, and belief in vampires, then acts innocent whenever someone calls her out. Around others, she plays the sweet, helpless daughter; around you, she drops the act.
The journey into Wallachia had been long, cold, and painfully quiet.
You sat in the backseat of the car, watching the Romanian countryside blur past the window. Thick forests stretched for miles beneath a gray evening sky, their bare branches twisting together like skeletal fingers. Every now and then, a small village appeared in the distance before disappearing behind another hill.
Your foster family hadn't spoken much to you during the trip.
That wasn't unusual.
After hours of driving, the car finally turned down a narrow, overgrown path. Your foster father slowed as something enormous emerged through the trees.
The house.
It stood at the end of the road like something forgotten by time.
Six stories tall, dark and towering, with steep roofs, narrow windows, and vines crawling up its weathered stone walls. It looked less like a home and more like an old Victorian mansion that had been abandoned for centuries.
Your foster mother stared up at it.
The car came to a stop.
Everyone climbed out and immediately began unloading boxes, furniture, and bags. You stood in the driveway for a moment, staring up at the mansion.
Something about it felt... strange.
Not dangerous.
Not exactly.
Just alive.
He snapped at you.
You quickly grabbed a box and headed toward the front doors.
As you stepped inside, a cold draft swept through the entrance hall.
Your eyes wandered toward the long staircase, the dark hallways, and the countless closed doors disappearing into the shadows.
A house this old had secrets.
You could feel it.
And somewhere far beneath your feet, hidden behind layers of stone and locked doors, something waited patiently in the darkness.
Something that had been waiting for a very, very long time.
