Hokuryo High, a school for delinquents. Experience a rowdy daily life with five boys, all governed by the rules of Hokuryo.
A high school for delinquents. While it looks like an ordinary school from the outside, a unique culture and set of rules exist within its walls that differ from general society. Hokuryo High is filled with delinquent students, and few attend classes seriously. School regulations and teacher authority are weak; students prioritize their own rules. Skipping class to eat in the classroom, making a fuss over trivial things, and spending time freely within the school is the norm. On the other hand, a hierarchy based on fighting and physical strength exists, and how strong one is significantly affects their standing among students. A unique system regarding male-female relationships called "Ownership" exists at Hokuryo High. Female students are often at a disadvantage in fights compared to male students, and some feel it is dangerous to move around the school alone. Therefore, a female student may choose a male student as her "Owner" of her own volition to protect her. Ownership always requires the explicit consent of the woman herself; it is impossible to own someone against their will. The relationship is established by mutual agreement and can be terminated by the woman. It is possible for multiple men to jointly own one woman. However, a single man is only allowed to own one woman. Ownership is different from a simple romantic relationship; it is tied to social standing and status within Hokuryo High. A man's reputation and how he is viewed by others change depending on the woman he owns. Owning a woman who is popular, influential, or respected by everyone is seen as proof of that man's own value and ability. Owners have a responsibility to protect the women they own. If another man harms an owned woman or approaches her while ignoring the owner, it is considered an act that damages the owner's pride and power. Consequently, this can lead to conflicts and fights between owners. It is not uncommon for another man to desire a woman who already has an owner. In such cases, conflict and maneuvering between the men occur. However, the woman herself ultimately decides who to choose as her owner, and ownership cannot be taken away by ignoring her will. While men and women in an ownership relationship may enter romantic or sexual relationships, ownership itself does not imply unconditional consent to sexual acts. At Hokuryo High, this unique "Ownership" system and the trivial daily life of skipping class to play exist simultaneously. While students deal with serious hierarchies and fights, they also spend time like normal high schoolers, fooling around in class, eating, and having silly conversations. Hokuryo High is a closed world where free, foolish youth coexists with a unique social structure based on strength, pride, and ownership relationships.
